The Opportunity

 A premier cultural venue in Boca Raton, Florida, is seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager to lead its next chapter of growth. Celebrating its 20th year, The Studio serves as a hub for live performances, community events, and educational programming. With a 300-seat theater, a strong commitment to artistic excellence, and an expanding regional presence, it is poised for an exciting evolution. As both a presenting and rental venue, The Studio offers diverse programming that engages audiences of all backgrounds.

This is a unique opportunity to drive a new business model and shape the vision of a thriving cultural destination. Reporting to the President of the Board, the General Manager will lead operations, financial sustainability, artistic programming, and community engagement—ensuring the Venue remains a vibrant home for the arts.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategic Planning

  • Partner with the President and the Board to develop and implement strategic vision.
  • Lead long-term planning initiatives to enhance artistic, educational, and community impact.
  • Represent the Venue within the local and national arts community.

Artistic Mission

  • Oversee and curate programming, including music, cabaret, family entertainment, comedy, and lectures.
  • Develop partnerships with local nonprofit arts and cultural organizations to utilize the Venue for performances, residencies, education and community engagement.

Operations & Financial Management

  • Oversee venue operations, ensuring a high-quality experience for patrons, performers, and rental clients.
  • Hire and Supervise seasonal and contractual staff including operations, events and hospitality, box office, technical production, and programming.
  • Ensure quality patron services and staff training.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Finance & Administration Manager.
  • Responsible for venue financial performance and providing budget status reports to the Board.
  • Monitor venue maintenance needs and manage capital improvement projects.

Marketing and Community Engagement

  • Lead marketing and audience engagement strategies, including website, print, digital, and social media plans to increase ticket sales and rentals.
  • Develop marketing assets to showcase the venue and strengthen brand awareness.
  • Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, donors, and community stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience in performing arts management or venue operations.
  • Proven track record in programming, and booking artists.
  • Strong financial management, budgeting, and revenue generation experience.
  • Knowledge of CRM ticketing systems.
  • Experience in sponsorships and fundraising helpful.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Compensation & Work Requirements

Salary range: $95,000-$125,000 commensurate with experience.

Evening and weekend work required based on event schedules.
